Summer Bridge Celebration 2022

In May, Knoch School District students in grades K - 7 were presented with Summer Bridge books to complete over the summer.  The books are designed to reinforce grade-level skills in reading and math.  The goal of the Summer Bridge program is to offset the “summer slide” that many students experience, leaving them less prepared to begin the next school year.

289 students returned their completed Summer Bridge books when they returned to school, and on Tuesday of this week, they gathered at Knoch Primary School to enjoy a special assembly.  Artist George Williams delighted the students with his show, “Art Madness”.  Mr. Williams speed-paints images to music.  He created three paintings during the presentation, and the paintings will now be hung in the three schools that the students attend - Knoch Primary School, Knoch Intermediate Elementary School, and Knoch Middle School - as a remembrance of the event.

Thank you to Mr. Williams for helping us to celebrate our students’ achievement, and congratulations to the students who did the work so that they could attend and be better prepared to start their new school year.
